Guide
Daishoji Imari is porcelain fired in the area around the former Daishoji Domain (a branch of the Kaga Domain, now Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture) from the Meiji period to the early Showa period. It is considered a type of Kutani Ware.
While incorporating the style and techniques of Imari ware developed in Arita, Hizen Province, the quiet aesthetics and painting unique to the Kaga region were added, creating a unique texture. The number of surviving pieces is limited, making it one of the rarest pieces of pottery that strongly reflects the regional characteristics and historical background of the region. They are easy to use as daily vessels and have a deep charm as antiques.
It features a gorgeous appearance with Imariyaki's characteristic some-nishiki (overglaze enamels and gold). These historic vessels will enrich your daily dining table.

⬜︎Kutani Ware
This traditional pottery is representative of Ishikawa Prefecture. Although it is said to have originated about 360 years ago, it is not widely known that there are two theories about its origin: one is that it originated in Kutani Village, Ishikawa Prefecture, and the other is that it originated in Arita Village, Saga Prefecture. According to the Kutani village theory, the kiln was suddenly closed about 50 years after it was started and no production was reported for the next 100 years. Kutani Ware is a truly mysterious pottery, but at the same time, it is full of romanticism and interest.
The rich colors of Kutani Ware, using the five colors of Kutani (green, yellow, red, purple, and navy blue), are characteristic of Kutani Ware in general. On the other hand, there are also pieces with subdued colors and numerous painting techniques. A certain degree of freedom from the confines of the box is the most distinctive feature and appeal of Kutani Ware.
